My name is Valeria Uva and I am the creator and coordinator of Italian for foreigners in Polignano a Mare. This course is intended to teach the Italian language as a foreign language.

I provide language lessons, whilst lessons on Italian culture and in specialised sectors are provided by expert collaborators.

I graduated in 2003 in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Bari and since 2004 I have been working as a translator and interpreter and in the field of applied linguistics and publishing, refining both my knowledge and professional skills through specialised study and courses.

Over the years I have obtained various types of experience in teaching Italian as a foreign language, both in Italy and abroad. From January 2010 to October 2012 I worked as an Italian language assistant at the University of Banja Luka (Bosnia-Herzegovina). In 2024 I achieved an advanced level certificate in the teaching of Italian as a foreign language (DITALS Level II) issued by the University for Foreigners of Siena.

Individual lessons in Italian for non-native speakers in Polignano a Mare are held in my private office in Polignano a Mare (Bari).

Group lessons are held at locations selected by me according to student requirements and preferences.
